It may seem trivial, but small talk is actually a critical part of British and American business culture, as it builds rapport and trust.

With me you’ll learn skills for small talk conversations among your peers and for approaching people you admire or have never met. In general, Small talk and casual conversation are not easy, but the deepest of relationships would not exist without it.  Every great business deal begins with a successful casual conversation.  We focus on how small talk requires developed interpersonal skills within the context of your personal workplace. Together we will fine-tune skills and introduce some strategy to your verbal fluency!

Have you ever felt held back because of unclear English pronunciation and comprehension difficulties? Perhaps you’re really good at your work, but you have difficulty speaking and keeping up with the fast-paced speech of native English speakers. This course is designed to help your listening and comprehension skills so that you pick up on the subtleties of spoken English. These skills will enable you to comfortably and confidently hold a conversation with native speakers, particularly when they are speaking very quickly.

English pronunciation coaches typically focus on the individual sounds that form the words we hear and say. However, research shows that mastery of the consonants and vowels is not enough to achieve clear and effective communication in English.  We go above and beyond the ABC and explore the fundamental of prosody and explore the key elements of stress, tone of voice, and rhythm that gives structure to English. You will acquire the knowledge and skills you need to achieve a wide variety of communicative goals such as emphasising key points during presentations and avoiding misunderstandings in team meetings.
